نحن إذ تناولنا في دراستنا موضوع الصورة، نريد تحديداً تلك الصورة الصحفية بشتى أنواعها، وهذا ما أدى بنا إلى اللجوء إلى المقاربة السيميولوجية للكشف عن العلامات وعن القيم الدلالية والفنية، ومحاولة التعرف على المعاني التي تكمن وراء الأشكال والخطوط والألوان في الصورة الصحفية، وكذا محاولة التعرف على أهم المواضيع التي تركز عليها الصورة الصحفية محل الدراسة، وما هي الرسالة التي تركز عليها، وهل استطاعت أن تعكس البيئة الثقافية والإجتماعية والسياسية للمجتمعات في الفترة التي تناولتها كسياق تاريخي أم لا.
وقسمنا إلى أربعة فصول هي: الفصل الأول: الإطار المنهجي للدراسة، الفصل الثاني: خصوصيات الصورة الصحفية، الفصل الثالث: أبعاد الصورة الصحفية وعلاقاتها باللغة، الفصل الرابع: بلاغة الصورة الصحفية.
