هذه ألف حديث قريبا من رواية البخاري ومسلم أو أحدهما، أختها من كتاب الترغيب والترهيب للحافظ الكبير "زكي الدين عبد العظيم المنذري" وهى جميع ما اشتمل عليه من روايتهما أو رواية أحدهما.
وقد قال رحمه الله تعالى في خطبة كتابه المذكور:غنه قد استوعب جميع ما كان من هذا النوع فيهما وفي كتب الحديث الأخرى التى سماها، ولم يترك شيئا من ذلك، وقد تبعته في تبويبه وترتيبه إلا في النادر لحكمة تظهر للعارف، وتركت الأبواب التى لم أجد فيها شيئا من أحاديث الصحيحين وقد تكون ترجمته شاملة لجملة أشياء فاقتصر منها على مافيه شئ من روايتهما أو رواية أحدهما؛ وقد يتكرر الحديث في عدة أبواب فأنبه عليه، وقد تذكر بعض الأبواب أو بعض الأحاديث في غير محلها لسبب بينه صاحب الأصل بقوله في آخره: وقد تم ما أردنا الله به من هذا الإملاء المبارك.
واعلم أنه - المنذري- قد يذكر لهذه الأحاديث رواة آخرين غير الشيخين ولكني اقتصرت عليهما، وكثيرا ما يكرر بعض الاحاديث في عدة أبواب للمناسبة، وقد تكون بروايات أخرى، وقد ينبه على ذلك وقد لا ينبه، فتبعته فيه ، ونبهت على ما لم ينبه عليه غالبا وقد حسبت المكرر الذي أثبته في هذا المختصر فوجدته نحو ستين حديثا وحذفت منه ما قرب عهده بان ذكر في الباب السابق قبله.
