الكتاب الذى نقدم له عبارة عن دراسات موجزة لمؤلفين عديدين، لم تتح لبعضهم فرصة نشر دراسته في كتاب كامل.
القسم الأول من الكتاب يتحدث عن موضوع لم يطرقه الباحثون كثيراً، وهو تأثر الإسلام الأندلسي بالمسيحية، وكان أسين بالاثيوس قد أفرد لهذا الموضوع كتاباً مستقلا وضع له عنواناً معبراً EL Islam cristionizado "الإسلام المنتصر" أو " الإسلام المتأثر بالمسيحية"، غير أن الباحث المتخصص في الفكر الإسلامي ميغيا كروث إيرنانديت ذهب إلى بالاثيوس أخطأ في اختيار عنوان كتابه، وقال فى -في محاضرة ألقاها فى جامعة القاهرة- إن بالاثيوس تحدث فى كتابه عن المسيحية التى تأثرت بالإسلام. حديث كروث إيرنانديث إذن يعضد رؤيتنا للموضوع ويجعل اختيار مقالات فيرناندو دى لا غرانخا عملا مشروعاً تماماً.
القسم الثاني من الكتاب يدور حول الموريسكيين، يتناول الجانب الدينى بالتحديد، واحسب أن الدراستين الموجزتين للمترجم توضحان أن تأثر الإسلام الأندلسي بالمسيحية واصل خطاه حتى بعد سقوط غرناطة: لم تكن "رسالة الشيخ أحمد" إلا عملا موريسكيا أراد الحفاظ على ما تبقى من دين إسلامي فى شبه الجزيرة مستغلا ما فعله المسيحيون فى العصور الوسطى حين ظنوا أن دينهم يتعرض لخطر الفناء. ثم كانت دراسة ثقافة لاجئ تونس الموريسكي فرصة للتعرف على استغلال الموريسكيين لأساطير مسيحية.
يتضمن القسم الثاني كذلك دراستين لعالمين من أعلام الدراسات الموريسكية أحدهما ألماني هو الدكتور رينولد كونزى والاخرى للدكتورة لوثي لوبيت بارالت من بويرتو ريكو، وهى التى تعتبر دون جدال عميدة الاستعراب في الأمريكتين.
القسم الثالث يتحدث عن جانب آخر من جوانب القضية الموريسكية ويعرض وثائق لم تتح الفرصة -على حد علمنا- لنشرها فى كتاب كامل. الدراسة التى نشرها فيرنانديث نييبا تبين إلى أى مدى كان تعنت السلطات الكاثوليكية مع الموريسكيين، أما دراسة بونيس إيبارا ودراسة كابريانا فتوضحان أن الإسبان قد اهتموا بالتوثيق منذ البداية، وهو ما يدعونا إلى البحث فى الوثائق العربية علنا نجد فيها ما يقدم وجهة نظر أخرى للقضية الموريسكية، أو -على الأقل- الاهتمام بحفظ الوثائق التى لم تضع بعد.
