هذا الشاعر الوجيع المتصوف، الزاهد، الناسك، المجنون بحبها، تلك التي اصطادت قلبه من غير أن نراها، وربما لا يزال هو يبحث عنها؛ دوّن شعراً ليس بالشعر الذي أعرف، لكنه والله هو الشعر الروحي الوجداني الذي احتاج إليه أنا الرجل وهي المرأة...
الصور الشعرية في هذا الشعر الغزلي بالغ الرقة فضحت عواطفنا وأخذتنا للسيد ماكليش قائلةً له: لو تأخرت قليلاً بإصدار كتابك (الصورة الشعرية) لكان مع شعرية وشعر عبد الجبار الجبوري يصير أبلغ وأجمل وأكمل... ((ينام البحر وحيداً على سرير البحر؛ ساهرٌ قمري على شُرفتها من ألف عامٍ يكاد يُمسكُ غصنَ سمائها وتفاحة وجعها))..
إنزياحات شعرية مركبة تثير التساؤلات وتنثر الإيحاءات وتلبي وتشفي عطش أرواحنا ((ليس لي، غير أن أمشطَ شَعر قصائدي بمشطٍ عينيكِ؛؛ يا ليلُ تعال ولا تأت، فإنها تخلع ثوب قصائدي، وتلبس صحوَ أيامي، أدعوكِ أيتها الساكنةُ على غصن قلبي؛ فدعيني أيتها الملوحة بالشال الأحمر، أن أعبث ببستان أنوثتكِ وأهذي؛ أصابع الغيمة لا تُمطرُ على الشفاه إلا عسلاً)).
