هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة مدى جاهزية حاضنات الأعمال للقيام بدورها في بناء القدرات التنافسية للمشروعات الصغيرة في الأردن.
استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، واعتمدت على مصادر المعلومات الثانوية المتمثلة في أدبيات الدراسة، والمصادر الأولية بإستخدام أداتين لجمع البيانات هما الإستبانة والمقابلة.
وقد تم تصميم أربع إستبانات، الأولى أجاب عنها مديرو حاضنات الأعمال ومساعدوهم، والثانية أجاب عنها أصحاب المشروعات الصغيرة المتخرجة، والثالثة أجاب عنها أصحاب المشروعات الصغيرة المحتضنة، والرابعة أجاب عنها أصحاب مشروعات صغيرة لم يتم إحتضانها.
وتمثل مجتمع الدراسة في حاضنات الأعمال العاملة في الأردن، والمشروعات الصغيرة المتخرجة والمحتضنة، ومشروعات صغيرة لم يتم إحتضانها.
أما وحدة المعاينة فتكونت من جميع مديري الحاضنات، ومساعديهم وعددهم (14)، وجميع مديري المشروعات الصغيرة المحتضنة وعددهم (20) والمتخرجة وعددهم (60)، بالإضافة إلى عدد من مديري مشروعات صغيرة لم يتم إحتضانها وعددهم (40)، وبلغ مجموع وحدة المعاينة (134) بمختلف فئاتهم.
