تتنوع أساليب عرض الدعوة وأساليب الموعظة والتذكير، وفي هذا، لفتت نظري رسالة رائعة من القرن الثالث الهجري ألفها الإمام الحارث المحاسبي رحمه الله -توفى سنة 243هـ- وأدركت تغيراً في الأسلوب إلى حد ما: حيث يجعل الآية والحديث نصب عينيه. ويذكرها أحياناً ثم يسرح في الخيال -المتصل بالتنزيل- ليصف المشاهد كأنه يراها,, وكان لأسلوبه تأثير جد عظيم وتنوع يرضي أصحاب النفوس الحالمة. وقليل من الناس من يخلو من حب الخيال أو التوهم، كما سمى الإمام المحاسبي رسالته.
وجاء الأستاذ الكبير أحمد بهجت ليضع كتاب "مسرور ومقرور" سيراً على المنهج التخيلي مع اختلاف أنه يصف حياة فردين في حال الدنيا ثم منقلبهما إلى الآخرة: هذا مسرور، ويصف حياته ومماته ثم مصيره الى الجنة ونعيمها. وذاك مقرور، ويصف كذلك حياته ومماته ثم مصيره الى النار وعذابها..
وقد أردت أن أدمج معاني الكتابين في كتاب على نحو الأخذ من روح الكتابين: مع زيادة الاقتباس من التوهم، مع إحداث تغيرات في النص ليناسب جو المتحدث سواء شقي أم سعيد- حيث نعرض حياة الفردين في الدنيا بإيجاز، والأسباب التي أدت إلى شقاء هذا وسعادة ذاك لتتم الفائدة بالزجر والموعظة ثم تتم المرحلة في القبر ثم الحشر والنشر والحساب والميزان والحوض والصراط ثم الجنة والنار.. وتزيد جرعات الوصف المخوف الباعث للزجر، والمشوق الباعث للأمل والعمل..
