على هضبة من مخارم طوروس وفي قرية يملكها آغا محلي، عبدي، كان يعيش هو "ميميد" الملقب بالناحل، وكانت جميع الأراضي تعود للآغا، وكان رجال القرية يزرعونها حفاة وهم يسيرون في أرض مملوءة بالعوسج، وكان ثلثا المحصول يعودان للآغا، كما كان الإرهاب سائداً.
لقد فرّ ميميد واستعيد ثم فرّ من جديد، مع "حتشه" التي أحبها والتي كان الآغا يود أن يزوجها بابن أخيه... وعندما طورد ميميد قتل ابن أخي عبدي آغا وجرح عبدي آغا نفسه، ولم يعد أمامه خيار آخر فأصبح "قاطع طريق" وانضم إلى عصابة "دورو المجنون" وهو قاطع طريق لا أخلاق له، ثم تركه ليكون له عصابة خاصة به.
وهكذا أصبح قاطع طريق مرموقاً وجريئاً يخشاه الأغنياء والمضطهدون ويحبه الفقراء، وأصبح اسمه أسطورياً عبر السهول والجبال في الأناضول.
ولد الكاتب يشار كمال عام 1923 في "هيميتي" وهي قرية من قرى جنوب الأناضول، وكان راعياً في صباه، وكعصامي علَم نفسه بنفسه، تميز بريبورتاجاته عن الحياة في ريف الأناضول، ونال في عام 1956، في تركيا، جائزة الرواية عن روايته هذه "ميميد الناحل" التي ترجمت منذ ذلك الحين إلى عدة لغات.
ويشار هو روائي وصحفي وقصصي، وهو من خيرة الكتّاب الأتراك المعاصرين.
