صحافة الأقباط فى هذه الدراسة هى تلك الصحف التى امتلكها وأصدرها الأقباط سواء كانوا أفراداً أو مؤسسات، وتلك الصحف تشكل فى اعتقادنا جزءاً من الصحافة المصرية على امتداد تاريخها الذى يمتد لما يقرب من قرنين من الزمان منذ صدور صحيفة "الوقائع المصرية" عام 1828 م، كما أن صحافة الأقباط تأثرت –وما زالت- بحركة الصحافة المصرية وتطورها، ذلك أن الأقباط هم جزء لا يتجزأ من التركيب الاجتماعى المصرى ككل، يتأثر بما فيه من متغيرات اقتصادية واجتماعية وسياسية، وتتأثر بذلك أدوارهم وردود أفعالهم تبعاً لما يحدث، فالأقباط ليسوا أقلية وافدة، وليسوا جماعة مغلقة، وليس لهم مشروع سياسى مستقل.
