في هذا الكتاب يبيّن الكاتب أنّ من الواجب على أهل الخطاب الديني، ونعني هنا (الخطاب الإسلامي)، أن يجددوا خطابهم بعد سنوات الفقر والتخلف، وبعد أن سُحِقَ الفكر والإبداع بطواحين الظلم والإستبداد، وخاصةً عندما تهب رياح التحديث لهذا الدين وخطابه من قبل الدخلاء ودعاة الباطل من ذلك إمامة المرأة للرجال والنساء مختلطين يوم الجمعة، بعد أن قامت بإلقاء الخطبة عليهم في إحدى الدول الأجنبية.
وشمل هذا الكتاب ثلاثة أقسام رئيسة، القسم الأول: الدعوات الإصلاحية الوافدة، أسبابها ودوافعها، القسم الثاني: الدعوة إلى تحديث الخطاب الديني، أسبابه ومعناه ومظاهره، والقسم الثالث: تجديد الخطاب الديني، معناه ومظاهره ومساراته.
