يخبرنا العلامة "محمد حسين الخرساني"عن كتابه هذا بأنه وجد في الخزانة الرضوية كتاباً في أوله: "هذا كتاب مجموع فيه كلام الناصح العالم والوافد الصالح، وهو يسمى: "مصباح الأنظار" ومن عمل بما فيه أمن من عذاب النار ورضي الله الجبار، وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد المختار، وآله وأصحابه الأخيار". وبعد؛ روي بالإسناد الصحيح، أن وافداً وفد على عالم من علماء أمة رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وسلم) فلما نظر الوافد إليه رأى رجلاً جسمه لا يشبه إسمه فسلَم عليه فرد السلام، فأطال الوافد الوقوف، وأطال العالم السكوت!!
وفي هذا العمل جعل أمنه من عذاب النار، وقد جاء الكتاب على شكل محاورة فكرية وعقلية بين الوافد والعالم يخبر بها الوافد، العالم بخفايا وأسرار عظيمة عما يصح فيه القول والعمل؛ ومن هذه المحاورة الرائعة نقتطف هذا المقطع ما بين الوافد والعالم؛ "قال الوافد: فكيف تعرف ربك؟ قال العالم: أعرف بما عرَف به نفسه من الوجدانية ولا أشبهه بشيء من البرية، لا يحد بالحدود، ولا يوصف بالصفات إذ هو سبحانه وتعالى خالق كل صفة وموضوعات...".
