لعله الرواية الأشهر فى تاريخ الإسلام للأحاديث النبوية الشريفة, وبرغم حالة التمجيد التى ربما تصل إلى التقديس لسيرة الرجال فى زماننا هذا إلا أن أبا هريرة هو أول من تم إتهامه فى التاريخ بالكذب على النبى, بل لم يشهد رواية حديث نبوي خلافا وتطاحنا حوله وحول سيرته بقدر ما شهد ورأى أبو هريرة, والحقيقة أن المتأمل لسيرته وما كتب عنه وروي منه ومن غيره سوف يلمس دوائر الخطورة التى تحيط الرجل وحياته وخاصة أنه ارتبط بالسيرة النبوية إلى حد وثيق وهائل, فضلا عن أن التاريخ الدينى الذى نتعلمه يخلو من بعض أو جزء من الحقيقة أو يكاد ويحرص فيه أصحاب مناهج الدين وبرامجه الرسمية على تقديم تاريخ مقدس يخلو من أي خلاف أو اختلاف أو صراع أفكار أو تضارب رؤى, وهو فى ظنى ما يجعل النفوس أقرب إلى التطرف الذى لاتسمح معه العقول بأي مناقشة ولا تبدي أي استعداد للخلاف والجدل وعندها اعتقاد راسخ وجامد ومتجمد بأنها على الحق وأن كل ما تسمعه أو تصادفه يخالف رأيها محض باطل.
الصحابى أبو هريرة كان واحد من الأسماء المختلف عليها فى التاريخ الإسلامى وبينما رفعة البعض إلى أعلى علييين فقد هبط به الآخرون إلى قاع الأرض, لكنه من الواجب أن نقرأ بأن هذا الخلاف حول شخصيته حمل ظلالا من الخلاف الكبير السياسي والشخصي الذى نشب بين أجنحة الأمة الإسلامية بعد مقتل الصحابى الجليل والخليفة الراشد عثمان بن عفان, لكن المؤكد ايضا أن الرفض الفكري والتجريح التاريخي الحاد لأبى هريرة لم يأت من الشيعة فحسب أو أنصار إمام المتقين علي بن أبي طالب كرم الله وجهة بل جاء من أنصار السنة محمدية صارمي الإيمان بالحديث النبوي الشريف ولم يكن الهجوم علي أبي هريرة فعل مستشرقين أو كارهين الإسلام بل جاء ممن لا خلاف علي إسلامهم وإيمانهم.
لكن ما الذى فعله أبو هريرة ليستأهل كل هذا الخلاف وتلك المعارك الفكرية حوله؟ الحقيقة أن أبا هريرة لم يفعل سوى أن روى الحديث عن النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم.. وهنا جوهر الأمر وفداحة التهم.
