إن أهم استراتيجيات التغيير هو استخدام الإستراتيجية العقلانية في التغيير والتي تتمثل في اقتراح فرد أو مجموعة أفراد التغيير بطريقة عقلانية مناسبة ومرغوبة من خلال مبررات معقولة ومقبولة، وإن رسم أهداف وأولوليات غير واقعية من شأنه إحداث رد فعل سلبية على التنظيم يدخله في حالة من الإحباط؛ لذا فالتغيير يحتاج إلى عناصر التخطيط، والضبط والتوجيه والتنظيم ويؤكد وايت على الدور الجوهري للإدارة في مرحلة التطبيق وتوضيح أهداف التغيير وتحديد المصادر وإثارة الدافعية ودفع أفراد المؤسسة؛ لتحقيق الأهداف المتفق عليها ولا يشترط أن تكون فكرة التغيير نابعة من رأس الهرم الإداري فإذا كان هو مقدم فكرة التغيير عليه أن يقنع الآخرين بأهميته وانه سيلبي الإحتياجات العامة والخاصة للمؤسسة، وبذلك فالتغيير يعد مطلباً تربوياً يتطلب من الذي يمتلك إرادة التغيير تضييق الفجوة بين النظرية والتطبيق ويجب أن يمتلك الفرد معرفة نظرية وكذلك مهارة التطبيق، فكلما ضاقت الفجوة بين النظرية والتطبيق إزدادت القدرة على التغيير، وهذا هو موضوع كتابنا الحالي، والذي تناوله الباحث الدكتور "أسامة محمد سيد علي" على مبحثين هما (إدارة التغيير، إدارة التغيير التربوي)، وقد سعدت بمراجعة هذا الكتاب وكتابة التقديم الخاص به، وأمل أن يكون يفيد العاملين في حقل التعليم بالمؤسسات التعليمية والتربوية والعاملين فيها.
