لا شك أن جيلنا قد تفتحت عيناه في أثناء الدراسة الثانوية والجامعية تباعا على كتابات احسان، سواء المقالات السياسية الملتهبة خاصة التي كشفت النقاب وفجرت قضية الأسلحة الفاسدة ومهدت الطريق لثورة يوليو 1952 للمجتمع المصري على المستوى الإعلامي، وسواء القصص الأدبية التي كانت تنشر مسلسلة في روز اليوسف - المدرسة الصحفية التي خرجت الأجيال من الصحفيين الذين تبوءوا مقاعدهم المنتشرة على معظم الدور الصحفية المصرية طوال ما يقرب من نصف قرن - فنحن نجد أن الأستاذ احسان عبد القدوس الذي تعددت مواهبه وقدراته قد فرض نفسه بانتاجه الوفير على الحياة المصرية والعربية ما يقرب من 40 عاما حتى الآن، بل وربما أطول إذا أخذنا في الاعتبار الوقت الذي كان فيه يكتب وهو لم يزل تلميذاً.
