يتضمن هذا الديوان مولديات كثيرة، تطرقت إلى مدح النبي الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم، ومدح ذريته الطاهرة، والشوق إلى المدينة المنورة، ولعل أهل تلك القصائد تشطيره لقصيدة ابن جابر الأندلسي التي مطلعها: هناؤكم يا أهل طيبة قد حقا / فبالقرب من خير الورى نلتم السبقا.
وكذلك ضمنه منظومات علمية، كمنظومته في النسب الكتاني وتراجم أصحابه، والتي فاقت الخمسمائة بيت، ومنظومته في القبض في الصلاة، كما تضمن شعره الإخوانيات، والتي تركزت في علاقته بالأعلام من أهل بيته، وبأعلام الزاوية المعينية، خاصة شيخها الشيخ ماء العينين الشنقيطي، وتلميذه الشيخ أحمد بن الشمس الشنقيطي، والتي تضمنت المدح والرثاء، والرسائل والعتاب، وتكمن أهميتها كذلك في أن جل من كان يراسلهم هم أعلام الوقت في المشرق كالشيخ جمال الدين القاسمي، وفي المغرب كمن ذكرنا وغيرهم.
كما تضمن الديوان، ألغازاً فقهية ونحوية، ومقطعات حوت حكماً وفوائد تربوية وأخلاقية واجتماعية، لذلك صلح أن يتغنى بأشعاره، وأن تقدم الدراسة في المعاهد العلمية المدرسية والجامعية، كمثال بارز على الشعر -خاصة المغربي- في أوائل القرن العشرين الميلادي، تلك الفترة التي لم تنل حقها من الدراسة والبحث.
ونظراً لموسوعية الشاعر العلمية، وحريته الفكرية، ونزعته الدينية والوطنية الجياشة، فقد قدم كل تلك الميزات مادة ثرية لشعره، وذخيرة معرفية وجمالية جعلته مميزاً بين شعراء وفته، بل لا زالت بعض أشعاره يتغنى بها في الزوايا، أو تكرر على الألسن.
