وقد بدأ الكتاب بدراسة أستخدامات الطاقة ثم مصادرها ثم تكنولوجيا تحويل الطاقة, ثم تحول إلي دراسة قدرة الرياح في العالم وتوزيعها وأنماطها والتنبؤ بها ثم دراسة نظام أستغلال الرياح ومكوناته ومواصفاته وتشغيله والتطورات الجديدة, وتربينات الرياح وآليات تدويرها.
ثم تطرق بعد ذلك لنظام الطاقة الشمسية وأستغلالها بأستخدام الخلايا الشمسية وتصميمها ودراسة النظام الحراري الشمسي وأستخدامه بواسطة المجمعات الشمسية بأنواعها المختلفة وتطبيقاتها العملية, وأنتقل بعد ذلك إلي دراسة الأنظمة المستقلة والموصلة بالشبكة ومكوناتها وتشغيلها.
وأخيراً تم إلقاء نظرة علي مستقبل الطلب علي الكهرباء المولدة من الرياح أو الطاقة الشمسية.
