يدلل الفيلسوف الفرنسي "جان بول سارتر" على خطورة اللغة قائلًا: "الكلمة ليست نسيمًا عليلًا يداعب مخيلاتنا وعقولنا دون أن يؤثر فيها، ولكن الكلمة هي أداة الإرسال والاستقبال والتوجيه، هي مسدسات محشوة قد تحمي الخير أو تجهز عليه".
وتعد عملية بناء المفاهيم من أهم عمليات تأسيس المعرفة العلمية، فالمفاهيم هي اللبنات التي نبني بها صروحنا النظرية والفكرية؛ فإن لم تستوف هذه المفاهيم شروط تحديدها وصياغتها هوت النظريات المؤسسة عليها هشيمًا تذروه الرياح، وإذا كان لنا أن نستعير من علم الاقتصاد فإن موقع المفاهيم في عالم الفكر أقرب ما يكون إلى النقود في النظام الاقتصادي، فالمفاهيم مستودع للقيمة ووسيط للتبادل الفكري، فإذا لم تنضبط هذه المفاهيم ساد التشوش عالم الفكر وتقطعت قنوات الاتصال.
وتتصدى هذه الدراسة لقضية على درجة كبيرة من الأهمية تتعلق بدور الصحافة المصرية في بناء المفاهيم المتداولة في قضية الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي، بعد أن كثرت صيحات مخلصة هنا وهناك لإنقاذ الإعلام العربي من "الأسرلة" بعد أن تم غزوه بالعديد من المصطلحات والمفاهيم التي تخدم الجانب الإسرائيلي على حساب المصلحة العربية، راجين من الله سبحانه وتعالى أن يحقق النفع المرجو من ورائها، وأن تفضي إلى استقامة حقيقية في لغة الإعلام المصري والعربي تنصف قضايانا وتفضح وتكشف مكايد الأعداء.
ونظرًا لأهمية لغة الصحافة فقد تضمن هذا الكتاب فصلين آخرين، أحدهما يتناول الأسلوب الصحفي، بينما يتناول الآخر عوامل نجاح انقرائيته.
