إنَّ شرفَ المطلوب بشرف نتائجه، وعظم خطره بكثرة منافعه، وبحسب منافعه تجبُ العناية به، وعلىٰ قدر العناية به يكون اجتناء ثمرته. وأعظم الأمور خطراً وقدراً وأعمُّها نفعاً ورفداً ما استقام به الدِّينُ والدُّنيا، وانتظم به صلاحُ الآخرةِ والأولَىٰ؛ لأنَّه باستقامةِ الدِّين تصِحُّ العبادةُ، وبصَلاَحِ الدُّنيا تتمُّ السَّعادَةُ. و (ما أحسن الدين والدنيا إذا اجتمعا).
وهذا كتاب قد توخَّىٰ مؤلفه فيه الإشَارَةَ إلَىٰ آدابهما، وتفصيل مَا أُجْملَ من أحوالِهما، علىٰ أَعدل الأمْرَينِ من إيجازٍ وبَسطٍ جمعَ فيه بَين تحقِيق الفقهاءِ، وَترقيق الزهاد، وتنميق الأدباءِ، فلا ينبُو عن فَهمٍ، ولا يذهب في وهمٍ. وهو كتاب مُشْربٌ بالعلم والأدب، حريٌّ بالطلب، عهدُ الأشياخ والعلماء بسلفهم النصح بقراءته، والعنايةُ بالأخذ بتوجيهاته، وحفظ مُلَحه ونوادره.
رائعة هذا الكتاب: أنه يقاطعُ كتب الأدب في كثير من موضوعاته وأبحاثه، وفيه من إشراقات تخصصِ الإمام الماوردي ما يبهر القلب واللبّ، ولكن رائعة هذا الكتاب هي الانضباط الأدبي والأخلاقي الذي قلَّ أن يعمَّ كتاباً من أوله إلىٰ آخره، والتقاسيم والتفريعات التي لم يلتفت لغالبها أهل التصنيف في هذا الفن، فكان بها داني الجنىٰ، قريب المأخذ، ماتعاً للنفس والروح، يفيدُ منه المراهقُ والطرير، والكهل والشيخ الفاني الكبير.
وقد تضمَّن هذا الكِتابُ خمسةَ أبوابٍ: في فضل العقل وذم الهوى، وفي أدب العلم، وفي أدب الدين، وفي أدب الدنيا، وفي أدب النفس. وقد حوىٰ كنوزاً من الأفكار، وخططاً وبرامجَ للإصلاح العقدي والأخلاقي والاجتماعي والسياسي والتربوي والتعليمي والنفسي والعقلي و العلمي علىٰ مستوى الفرد والمجتمع، وهو يتناول ما يستقيم به الدين و الدنيا، وما ينتظم به صلاح الآخرة و الأولىٰ؛ ويفيد الأمة الإسلامية على اختلاف أعمارها، وتنوع نزعاتها، وتعدد مذاهبها، ولذلك كان قمناً بالطبع، جديراً بالنشر والاقتناء.
