تستحق حكاية تركيا مع مرحلة ما سمي بـ "الربيع العربي" ، الذي تحول خريفاً دموياً لا مثيل له في التاريخ العربي والإسلامي، التوثيق والقراءة وأخذ العبر. وهو ما يحاول الكتاب أن يقدمه للقارىء العربي بشكل أساسي، وتالياً غير العربي، التركي تحديداً. إذا كانت النزعة العثمانية – السلجوقية الجديدة (العثمانية) في الهيمنة على المنطقة العربية الإسلامية قد سقطت ومعها سقط بشكل مأساوي مثال "النموذج التركي"، فإن أكثر ما أثار الإنتباه في مرحلة "تركيا والربيع العربي" انهيار نظرية أحمد داود أوغلو حول "العمق الإستراتيجي" بعد اقل من سبع سنوات على محاولة ترجمتها إلى حيّز التنفيذ لتدخل في قائمة النظريات الأسرع انهياراً في التاريخ.
أردنا هذا الكتاب، بنصوصه المتفرقة والكثيرة والمتنوعة المستقاة من فترة أربع سنوات كاملة ونصف السنة، أن يكون مرآة صادقة لما كان يجري، وأقرب إلى شريط سينمائي تتوالى مشاهده تارة متصلة وتارة متقطعة، يسترجع عبره القارىء بكل فئاته ما كان يعتمل في العقل السياسي التركي، وخصوصاً لدى نخبة حزب "العدالة والتنمية" وقادته، وما كان يدور من نقاشات وسحالات بين النخب التركية السياسية والفكرية والإعلامية، وليرسم الكتاب فسيفساء غنية ومادة توثيقية وفي الوقت نفسه تحليلية، لواحدة من أكثر مراحل التاريخ التركي حساسية واضطراباً ومغامرة.
