"الإلياذة" ملحمة يونانية كتبها الشاعر العظيم هوميروس، وتقع أصلاً في 24 نشيداً و16,000 بيتٍ. وتروي أخبار حرب طروادة بين الإغريق والطرواديين؛ إذ إن معنى الإلياذة هو "قصة طروادة". وطروادة مدينة موغلة في القدم، وكانت تقع في تركيا.
وتتجلى في "الإلياذة" معاني البطولة والشهامة والصداقة والحب في أسمى معانيه: حب الأسرة، وحب الوطن، وحب الأصدقاء، وحب المجد والشهرة.
وهذه هي أول محاولة بالعربية لتقديم قصة حصار طروادة للنشء.
