صدر أول قانون أصول محاكمات جزائية في لبنان بتاريخ 18 أيلول 1948 وتبعه بتاريخ 10 أيار 1950 صدر تنظيم قضائي أخذ بنظام القاضي المنفرد وألغى محاكم الصلح والمحكمة الإبتدائية وأعاد محكمة التمييز بالإضافة إلى تعديلات أخرى.
