علمُ البلاغة من أشرف العلوم وأجلِّها شأناً؛ فهو الميزان العادل الذي إن ملكنا أدواته، ملكنا القُدرة الفائقة على معرفة الكلام من حيثُ صحَّتُهُ وجمالُهُ، أو ضعفه وقُبحه.
وكان من سوالف الأقضية أنِ التفت الأقدمون إلى هذا العلم، فأولَوهُ عنايتهم، باذلين في تحريره وكشف دقائقه الجهدَ كلَّ الجَهد، مُتوِّجين ذلك كلَّه بالآثار البلاغيَّة التي لا حصرَ لها، وقد تنوَّعت ما بين رسالة لطيفة، وسِفْر مُطوَّل، وكتاب عَوَان بينهما.
وهذا الكتاب يضم رسالة لطيفة في علم البيان، أنشأها العلاَّمة المُفكِّر المُصلح طاهر بن صالح الجزائريّ الأصل الدِّمشقيّ المولد والوفاة (ت: 1338هـ)، ووسمها بـ: حديقة الأذهان في حقيقة البيان، فهي من الرَّسائل الجليلة النَّفع التي خُطَّت بأسلوب تربويِّ مُحكم، ينتفع به أهل العلم على إختلاف مراتبهم.
ولأهمية هذه الرسالة، اعتنى بتحقيقها ودراستها الأستاذ عدنان الخطيب معتمداً على نسخة واحدة أما منهجه في التحقيق فكان وفق ما يلي: ترجم للطَّاهر الجزائريّ التَّرجمة الضَّافية، حياةً، وآثاراً، درس رسالته من حيثُ مادَّتها، ومنهجه في عرضها وفق صورة، تعود على القارئ بالنَّفع الذي لا يخفى، نسخ الرِّسالة كاملةً من المطبوع النَّادر، وحقَّقنها التَّحقيق العلميَّ الذي يليق بها وبصاحبها، ذيَّل النص المحقق بالمسارد التحليليَّة التي تكشف النِّقاب عن كلِّ مُستغلق في الرِّسالة، وتُدني مطالبها إلى القارئ في أيسر سبيل مُمكن.
