العلامة البركوي (929هـ - 981هـ = 1521م - 1573م)
هو محمد بن بير علي البركوي الرومي الحنفي «تقي الدين» صوفي واعظ نحوي فقيه مفسر محدث فرضي مشارك في غير ذلك. ولد بـ «باليكسر»
من تصانيفه الكثيرة الطريقة المحمدية في الوعظ، شرح لب الألباب في علم الإعراب للبيضاوي، دافعة المبتدعين وكاشفة بطلان الملحدين، إنقاذ المهلكين في الفقه والأربعون في الحديث ا. هـ[من معجم المؤلفين لكحالة الجزء التاسع ص (123 - 124) تقدم.]
وجاء في كشف الظنون لحاجي خليفة بخصوص هذا العلم ومصنفاته «الدر اليتيم في التجويد لمولانا محمد بن بير علي المعروف ببركلي المتوفى سنة 981هـ إحدى وثمانين وتسعمائة، كتبه في أوائل جمادى الأولى سنة 974هـ أربع وسبعين وتسعمائة وشرحه الشيخ أحمد أحمد فائز الرومي شرحاً ممزوجاً» اهـ ملخصاً [ص (737) الجزء الأول من كتاب «كشف الظنون عن أسامي الكتب والفنون» للعالم الأديب والمؤرخ الكامل الأريب مصطفى بن عبد الله الشهير بحاجي خليفة. منشورات مكتبة المثنى ببغداد].

أردت في هذا الكتاب أن أضيف الطريقة المحمدية وأبين السيرة الأحمدية حتى يعرض عليها عمله كل سالك فيتميز المصيب من المخطئ والناجي من الهالك، ورتبته على ثلاثة أبواب . الباب الأول في الأعتصام بالكتاب والسنة والاحتراز عن العادات السيئة ، والبدع المحدثة والإقتصاد في الأعمال والتوسيط والاجتناب عن الطرفين والإفراط والتفريط ، الباب الثاني في الأمور المهمة في الشريعة المحمدية. أما الباب الثالث والأخير فكان في أمور يظن انها من التقوى والورع.
