منذ أن صدر هذه الجزء الحاوي على سيرة أبي العلاء المعري من موسوعوتنا الموسومة بــ (معجم شعراء الحسين) أخذت تراودني رغبة في إظهار سيرة أبي العلاء المعري بكتاب خاص بهذه السيرة سيما وهي دراسة قائمة بنفسها هذا سبب وسبب آخر أكثر إلحاح في إخراج هذه السيرة ذاتها في كتاب هو إلحاح الأخوة والأصدقاء ممن يريدون الفائدة تتم لأكثر روّاد الأدب وأصحاب الدراسات الخاصة في هذا المجال من أبنائنا الأعزاء من طلبة الجامعات، وخصوصاً أولئك الذين يعدَّون دراسات خاصة للحصول على شهادة الماجستير أو الدكتوراه.
فنقلت رغبتي إلى الأخ الأستاذ حبيب عبد الحميد الهلالي فأستصوب الرآي وشجعني على ذلك وهو بدوره نقل هذه الفكرة إلى أحد أقربائنا المحسنين وهو الأستاذ كريم... زوج حفيدتنا الكبرى بنت ولدنا الشيخ صادق الذي يسكن في بلاد المهجر وبالضبط في كندا فأخذ على عاتقه تنضيد الكتاب وإخراجه من جديد وطباعته من ماله الخاص ونحن بدورنا لا يسعنا إلا أن نتوجه بالدعاء لولدنا الكريم... بالموفقية وسداد الرأي ويجزيه ربَّ العالمين بإحسانه إحساناً ويوفقه لكل عمل خير ويأخذ بيده نحو الخير والصلاح.
كما أقدم شكري وتقديري للأخ حبيب على تحمله المتاعب الجليلة وفقه الله لما فيه الخير وأخذ بيده لصالح الأعمال.
