كانت ترجمة هذا الكتاب تهدف الي تأكيد مكانة الملك الشاب الجديد فاروق الأول الذي دخل في البدايات في صدام مع الاحتلال البريطاني في مصر وحتي مع حزب الوفد حزب الأغلبية لتأكيد سلطة القصر الملكي في مصر وأيضاً لدعم مكانة مصر والملك فاروق في العالم العربي والإسلام و احلام فاروق لاسيما مع نشأة جامعة الدول العربية ولهذا ستشهد مصر احتفالات كبري منذ عام 1948 بمناسبة المئوية الأولي لوفاة محمد علي مؤسس مصر الحديثة وابراهيم باشا الفاتح.
نحن إذاً امام كتاب مهم عن محمد علي وتجربته في تحديث مصر كتاب لم يسقط، كما يظن البعض في شراك الدعاية التاريخية للأسرة العلوية ولكنه احتفظ بأكبر قدر من المنهجية والنقد والتحليل بمعايير عصره رغم الدعم الذي تلقاه من الملك فؤاد كما يحسب للترجمة انها احتفظت بالنص الاصلي دون تدخل لحذف اي انتقاد يتعلق بمحمد علي الجد الأعلي للملك فاروق وهذا يوضح مساحة رأي والرأي الاخر الذي كانت تتمتع به مصر الليبرالية آنذاك.
