تقتضي الإجابة على هذه الإشكالية تقسيم الموضوع إلى فصلين وخاتمة عامة، يتناول الفصل الأول موضوع التحكيم الدولي في مجال تسوية نزاعات الحدود البحرية، أما الفصل الثاني فيعالج إسهامات محكمة العدل الدولية والمحكمة الدولية لقانون البحار في تسوية نزاعات الحدود البحرية، أما الخاتمة فهي تلخص أهم محاور الدراسة وتبرز أهم النتائج والتوصيات التي يمكن أن توفر أو تفتح المجال لدراسة جديدة، وسوف نعتمد في معالجة هذا الموضوع على بعض مناهج البحث العلمي، والتي من بينها، المنهج التاريخي، هذا إلى جانب المنهج الوصفي، وكذلك المنهج التحليلي الذي يمكن من خلاله دراسة وتحليل الاتفاقيات الدولية والأحكام القضائية في هذا البحث من أجل الكشف عن أسبابها وخلفياتها.
