الكتاب الذي بين يدي القارئ الكريم، يتألف من عدد من المحاضرات التي تفضل الشهير مطهري (رضي الله عنه) بإلقائها في أزمنة مختلفة وأماكن متفرقة، وهو يتألف من مقدمة وثمانية فصول:
الفصل الاول: وهو محاضرة تحت عنوان "مشكلات الإمام علي عليه السلام"، والفصل الثاني: عبارة عن محاضرتين حول "صلح الإمام الحسين عليه السلام"، والفصل الثالث: يتكون من بحث قصير حول الإمام زين العابدين عليه السلام ألقاه الشهيد المؤلف استمراراً لمحاضرة كان قد ألقاها قبله تحت عنوان (خرافة الثلاثة عشر)، والفصل الرابع: يشتمل على بحث حول (الإمام الصادق عليه السلام ومسألة الخلافة) على أثر بحث (صلح الإمام الحسن عليه السلام) وبحث (مسألة ولاية عهد الإمام الرضا عليه السلام)، والفصل الخامس: محاضرة تحت عنوان (أسباب استشهاد الإمام موسى الكاظم عليه السلام)، والفصل السادس: يشتمل على بحث حول (مسألة ولاية عهد الإمام الرضا عليه السلام)، والفصل السابع: (كلمة حول الإمام الحسن العسكري عليه السلام) ألقاها الشهيد (رض) استمراراً لاحدى محاضرات (السيرة النبوية) في عام 1354 هـ. ش. في المسجد الجامع لسوق طهران بمناسبة الذكرى السنوية لولادة ذلك الإمام عليه السلام، والفص الثامن: يتألف من محاضرتين حول الامام المهدي (عج): الاولى: تحت عنوان (العدل الكلي الشامل) والثانية: تحت عنوان (المهدي الموعود). وكما يظهر من اسم الكتاب فهوم يقوم بجولة في رحاب سيرة الأئمة الأطهار عليهم السلام.
