يقسم الكتاب إلى جزءين رئيسين. اشتمل الجزء الأول على مبادئ البحث عن الموارد المالية؛ وتضمّن أربعة فصول تناولت العديد من الأفكار والطروحات فيما يتعلق بنشاط تحصيل الموارد المالية في التعليم العالي والبحث، وإطلاق حملات جمع الموارد المالية، ومظاهر قانونية وضريبية، والصندوق السنوي، وتضمن الجزء الثاني ثلاثة عشر فصلاً تناولت آليات وإجراءات حملات تنمية الموارد المالية مرحلة تلي مرحلة، مبينة الرؤية الاستراتيجية والبنية القانونية والتنظيمية للحملات، وأساليب التواصل، وأخلاقيات البحث عن المصادر المالية وأساليب المتابعة والعرض والتقويم وغيرها. إضافة إلى مجموعة من الأدلة التوضيحية والتطبيقية للراغبين في الانطلاق والبدء في حملاتهم التمويلية، وقائمة المراجع والمصطلحات.
