وحين انتهت الأغنية ركع أمامي، وأعطاني خاتم بيد، وباليد الأخرى أمسك بيدي، وقبلها وقال لي: "تتجوزيني؟ وسأهبك روحي وقلبي وحياتي لآخر نبضة في قلبي". فسحبت يدي وجذبته برقة نحوي، وكان يتجه نحوي وفي عينيه نظرة طفل بريء لأمه، ونظرة المشتاق إلى حبيبته، ووضعت اصبعي على فمه وقلت له: "مش الليلة ديه وخلينا مع بعض دلوقت، ومش مهم أي حاجة تانية". وبحب وافق وجلسنا مستندين على بعضنا، وظل يتحدث ويسرد لي قصص عن طفولته، وعن شبابه ومواقفه المضحكة.
