يتم دراسة هذه الطبعة من كتاب الإحصاء التجاري في فصل أو فصلين دراسيين، وقد تمت كتابته بلغة مبسطة بهدف الحد من مستوى التوتر الذي يشعر به العديد من الطلاب عند أخذ دورة في علم الإحصاء.
ونلاحظ أن العديد من الطلاب الذين يدرسون الأعمال التجارية يشعرون بالرهبة وهم يتصفحون كتب الإحصاء، وفي كثير من الأحيان يشعر هؤلاء الطلاب بأن كتب الإحصاء التي يدرسونها تمثل عقبة يصعب التغلب عليها بدلاً من أن تكون أداة تساعدهم في النجاح.
ولمعالجة هذه المسألة، قمت بكتابة هذا الكتاب بطريقة مباشرة وبلغة مبسطة كي تساعد في الحد من التوتر الذي يشعر به العديد من الطلاب مع هذه الدورة.
وقد تعلمت من خلال تجربتي ككاتب ومدرس أن الطلاب يتعلمون بطريقة أكثر فعالية عندما يشعرون بأن هناك علاقة شخصية مع معلمهم، وتميل العديد من الكتب الدراسية التقليدية إلى "الإستخفاف" بالطلبة بطريقة يجد فيها العديد صعوبة في الفهم، إلا أنني أفضل الكتب الدراسية التي "تتحدث" إلى الطلاب كما أفعل داخل الصف الدراسي وتمنحهم الشعور بأني بجانبهم وأشجعهم في كل خطوة على الطريق.
