إن عظيماً من عظماء أهل بيت العصمة والطهارة كمولى الأحرار الإمام الحسين بن أمير المؤمنين علي عليه السلام جادَ بنفسه وعياله وصحبة لكي يحفظ الدين الحق من الإندثار فكانت شهادة صرخةً احيت المؤمنين من سبات مُزمعَ ومخطط له، وكانت شهادته - بعد ما لحق به وصحبه من صنوف العذاب والتنكيل في كربلاء - دعوةً إلى شيعته في كلّ عصرٍ ومِصرٍ لكي يذكروه، لأن في ذكرهم له تطهيراً لنفوسهم من رجس الشياطين وإعلاءً لكلمة الحق، وما فتئ شيعته عليه السلام منذ شهادته يذكرونه بالندب واللطم واللّدم والتطبير وغيرها من صنوف الإحياء والتذكير بالمصاب في مشاهد مهيبة استفزَّت النواصب والبتريين، فقاموا يشنّعون على المحيين لتلك الشعائر طوراً ويشككون بحلية تلك المظاهر من الإحياء طوراً آخر... إلى أن قيَّد اللهُ سبحانه وتعالى سبيلَ الدفاع عن تلك الشعائر المقدّسة إلى فقهاء المحقق المرجع الديني الشيخ محمّد جميل حمُّود العامِلي الذي اختطت يراعه هذا السفر الجليل الذي كان له الواقع الكبير في قلوب المؤمنين، والذي كشف عن ضعف إستدلال المشككين بتلكم الشعائر المباركة، كما كشف المستور عن فلسفة تلك الشعائر المقدّسة.
