من دواعي الكاتب إختيار الكتابة في هذا الموضوع:
أولاً: ما شاع بين كثير من الأوساط الإسلامية اليوم من أن الجهاد إنما هو قتال العدو ورد عدوانه فقط، ثم الهجمة الشرسة على هذا المفهوم من قبل أعداء الإسلام بدعوى أنه يتنافى مع "حقوق الإنسان".
ثانياً: بيان حقيقة الجهاد وأنواعه، وما يصدق عليه الجهاد وما لا يصدق عليه الجهاد.
ثالثاً: الحملات الشيطانية الخبيثة الماكرة على فريضة الجهاد في سبيل الله، لها هدف مقصود؛ وهو جعل المسلمين يتخلون عن هذه الفريضة ويفرون منها فرارهم من الأسد.
فلا بُدّ إذن، من دراسة توقظ الوسنان، وتبعث الأمل في قلوب الناس، وتكشف الستار عن تلك الدسائس الخبيثة، والحملات الشيطانية، حتى ترجع إلى مصدر عزها وكرمها، لتتوج بأكليل النصر والتمكين والظهور في الأرض.
رابعاً: إن تحرير ثوابت الإسلام من التزييف والتلفيق الذي حاول أعداء الإسلام أن يلصقوها به أمر ضروري..
وهذا ما يحاول الباحث تحقيقه في هذا الكتاب بإعتبار الموضوع جديداً في مجاله، هاماً بما تحمله نتائجه، يفك مجموعة من الألغاز، ويحل كثيراً من الإشكالات التي تعاني منها الأمة الإسلامية في واقعنا المعاصر الذي أصبحت فيه هدفاً يرمى من قبل الغرب الصليبي الحاقد، فضلاً عن المغرضين من المستشرقين، دعك من المغربين من بني جلدتنا.
