Book Description
" This book deals with the perennial question of beginnings and the origin of the universe from a Druze perspective. The truth of origins is encoded in the language of symbols and metaphors that take us from an old and familiar meaning to the refreshing surprise of a meaning that is new and can be only realized by those who are ready to transform themselves. Every phenomenal possibility is connected to a principle, or an archetypal root. This is the world of the Platonic ideas, Greek philosophy and Hermetic wisdom. As an example of the symbol, we shall mention the four elements: earth, water, air and fire and their common undifferentiated substance, the hayula. Another symbol is the circle of existence whose center radiates God’s presence. The inner and outer aspects of nature, can be certainly read as the subtle and gross dimension of the same thing. We hope that the reader will be touched and moved to the point of gaining a new vision of reality that reveals a wider horizon. As our sage Plato suggested, divine presence is accessible to the contemplative soul not dominated by passion.
