نظراً لانتشار استخدام المضخات الكهربية في العديد من التطبيقات سواء في المجالات الصناعية أو في غيرها من المجالات الأخرى، ولكي نطيل من عمرها الافتراضي لابد أن نعمل على صيانتها واصلاح أعطالها إذا تطلب الأمر وذلك على أساس علمي وبطريقة مدروسة منظمة تعتمد على التفكير المنطقي لتحليل الاعطال التي تظهر أثناء التشغيل، وحرصاً مني أن أنقل ما اكتسبته من خبرة في هذا المجال وما قرأته من مراجع فقد حاولت أن أقدم هذا الكتاب للمهندسين والفنيين والمشغلين لتلك النوعية من المعدات، وقد رأيت أن اتبع في أسلوب العرض أن أقسم الكتاب إلى خمسة أبواب تناولت فيها تشخيص وتتبع الأعطال بالمضخات والمحركات الكهربية والسيور وكذا مشاكل حشو الطلمبات وموانع التسرب الميكانيكية، ثم تطرقت إلى صيانة المضخات والمواتير الكهربية، وبعد ذلك قمت بتقديم شرح تفصيلي لكل من حشو المضخات الطاردة المركزية من حيث أنواعها وخاماتها وتركيبها، وأخيراً تناولت بالشرح التفصيلي موانع التسرب الميكانيكية وتصنيفها وتركيبها والمواد المستخدمة في تصنيعها وكيفية اختيار موانع التسرب المناسبة لظروف التشغيل وذلك بالاستعانة ببعض الرسومات والمقاطع والأشكال التي تخدم الموضوع وأسأل الله أن أكون قد وفقت في عرض الموضوع بأسلوب بسيط وشيق يجذب القارئ ويحقق الغرض من إصدار هذه الطبعة من الكتاب.
