قد اقتضت خطة البحث تقسيمه على مقدمة، وتمهيد، وأربعة فصول، وخاتمة، فالمقدمة تضمنت سبب إختيار الموضوع وأهميته، وبيان المنهج الذي اتبعته، وأما التمهيد فذكر الكاتب فيه التعريف اللغوي والإصطلاحي للشفاعة وذكر أنواعها والدليل عليها والحكم الشرعي فيها، وأما الفصل الأول: فتناول فيه الأمر بالشفاعة وبيان فضلها والحث على قضاء الحاجات، وتضمن مبحثين، المبحث الأول: ما جاء في الأمر بالشفاعة وبيان فضلها، والمبحث الثاني: ما جاء في الحض على قضاء الحاجات، وكان الفصل الثاني: في الشفعاء وصفاتهم والشفاعة الحسنة والتحذير من التبرم عند قضاء حوائج الناس، وفيه ثلاثة مباحث، فالمبحث الأول: في الشفعاء وصفاتهم، والمبحث الثاني: الشفاعة الحسنة وشروطها، والمبحث الثالث: التحذير من التبرم عند قضاء حوائج الناس، أما الفصل الثالث: مجالات الشفاعة، وتضمن ثلاثة مباحث، المبحث الأول: الشفاعة في شؤون الأسرة، والمبحث الثاني: الشفاعة في المعاملات والقضاء والجهاد، والمبحث الثالث: الشفاعة في الحدود، والفصل الرابع: الشفاعة وولاة الأمور وأثرها في المجتمع، وقد احتوى على ثلاثة مباحث، المبحث الأول: واجب ولاة الأمور، والمبحث الثاني: حكم قبول هدية الشفاعة، والمبحث الثالث: أثر الشفاعة في المجتمع، ثم الخاتمة وتناولت فيها أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها من خلال البحث، والله الحمد والمنة.
