ومن هذه الفيروسات ما يعرف بفيروس الكبد الجيمي، أحد أهم أسباب التهابات الكبد الفيروسة المزمنة، ذلك الفيروس الغامض الذي أصبح يشكل رعباً ليس في عالمنا العربي فقط بل وفي العالم أجمع.
لهذا جاء هذا الكتاب ليعرض المفاهيم العلمية التي يرتكز عليها مرض التهاب الكبد الفيروسي الجيمي، وبعض المواضيع المتفرقة حول المرض وهي أهمية توفر لقاح واق ضد المرض في المستقبل، طرق الوقاية والمكافحة ضد المرض، علاقة التهاب الكبد الفيروسي الجيمي بالحمل، غذاء المرضى المصابين، الأدوية ومرضى الكبد، دور التدخين في تدهور المرض وعلاقة الصيام بهذا المرض.
وانتهى الكتاب في فصله العشرين والأخير بعرض لكيفية التعامل مع المصاب بالعدوى في محيط الأسرة.
