نظراً لخطورة عمليات غسل الأموال وجد المشرع في كثير من دول العالم انه من الضروري إصدار قانون بشأن مكافحة غسل الأموال، ولاسيما بعد صدور قرار مجلس الأمن رقم (1373) لسنة 2001 بشأن مكافحة الإرهاب وتجميد أموال المنظمة الإرهابية، فعلى سبيل المثال اصدر المشرع المصري القانون رقم 80 لسنة 2002 بشأن مكافحة غسل الأموال.
ولم يتوقف الأمر عند حد إصدار القوانين الوطنية بشأن مكافحة غسل الأموال، ولكن توجد أيضاً العديد من الإتفاقيات والمواثيق الدولية لمكافحة غسل الأموال، وموضوع دراستنا هنا "غسل الأموال بين النظرية والتطبيق"، ولتوضيح هذا الموضوع رأينا أن نقسم الدراسة على النحو التالي: (الفصل الأول: ظاهرة غسل الأموال، الفصل الثاني: التعاون الدولي في مكافحة غسل الأموال، الفصل الثالث: نماذج تطبيقية لغسل الأموال، الخاتمة).
