فرح صبية تعمل باحثة مختصة في علم الآثار والحضارات القديمة تنتمي إلى زمن يتقدمنا بـ ستين عاماً - تفقد رقاقتها الإلكترونية بجانب معبد عشتار المتربع على أطلال مدينة إبلا.
يعثر عليها شاب يدعى إيبريوم أثناء ذهابه للحفل لقطاف الجوز - لكن الغرابة أن من يعثر عليها مواطن من مملكة إبلا أي في مسرح زمني يسبق لحظة فقدانها للرقاقة بمقدار أكثر من خمسة آلاف عاماً.
تنجح فرح في مخاطبته، ومن ثم السفر إليه عبر الزمن بطريقة سنطلع عليها في الرواية، لتتعرف على عاشقين لطيفين، وللقيام بمهمة عاجلة، وهناك تدور أحداث مغامرة جميلة محفوفة بالمخاطر والمجازفات، تضعنا في أجواء حضارة عريقة قامت منذ أكثر من ألفا وخمسمائة عام قبل الميلاد، حضارة اعتبرت رائدة في مقاييس تلك الأيام، نكتشف بيئة إبلا وكأننا نعيش فيها ونتجول بين أزقة مدنها، وندخل مكتبتها.
نتعرف على قاضية شهيرة كتبت عنها الألواح الطينية في ذلك الزمن القديم - ندخل مجلس الايبا - حكام المقاطعات - ومن ثم القصر الملكي ونتعرف على الملك، نشارك أهل المملكة أعيادهم وإحتفالاتهم - لكنها وأثناء تأديتها لمهمتها تتعرض لمأزق كبير، يحاول أصدقاؤها مساعدتها - ما هي المهمة التي جاءت من أجلها، ولماذا تحال إلى المحكمة وبأي تهمة - وهل تنجح في مهمتها، وما دور ملك إبلا في نجدتها؟...
القصة تعتمد على معلومات تاريخية مدققة وصحيحة وهي نتيجة أبحاث علمية ومعرفية عميقة، وتلقي الضوء على طبيعة الإنسان الذي سكن هذه المنطقة قديماً وتقيم مقارنة بين ما هو قديم وما يمكن أن يكون عليه في المستقبل إنطلاقاً من قراءة البيئة والشغف الإنساني للمعرفة والإرتقاء والتطور.
قد تبدو هذه الرواية غريبة من نوعها، لكنها تنجح وبدقة ملحوظة في ربط الأزمنة بعضها ببعض برشاقة وموضوعية سرعان ما يغوص فيها القارئ ويعيش بين أحداثها، فلا يتركها قبل أن يدرك السطر الأخير.
وما يضيف للرواية بُعداً آخر، ذلك أن الروائي مطلع على اللغات القديمة، وباحث في علم اللسانيات.
