ظاهرة الغلو في الدين، موجودة في أتباع جميع الأديان، ولا تقتصر هذه الآفة الخطيرة على أتباع دين الإسلام وحدهم، كما يريد بعض خصوم الإسلام أن يوهموا الآخرين بهذه الحقيقة الزائفة. بل يمكن القول: بأن الغلو في الدين أصبح ظاهرة عالمية، ومشكلة حقيقية وخطيرة على مستقبل الإسلام، وسوف تزداد خطورتها أكثر إذا لم يتصد لها العلماء وأهل الاختصاص، ويواجهوها مواجهة فكرية وتربوية بالدرجة الأولى. إن معالجة مشكلة الغلو في الدين ينبغي أن تكون شغلنا الشاغل، باعتبار ذلك واجبًا شرعيًّا؛ ولأن الدعوة إلى التدين الصحيح القائم على التوسط والاعتدال له انعكاسات إيجابية على حياة الأمة بأسرها، فلكي يكون المواطن صالحًا لأمته ووطنه فلابد أن يتشبع بقيم التدين الصحيح؛ لأن ذلك من أسباب السعادة في الدنيا والآخرة.
