تملّكني الرّعب في البداية، وأصابني اليأس وأنا أرى السفينة تختفي في الأفق البعيد، لكنّي لم أستسلم للرعب؛ فقرّرتُ أن أبحث في الجزيرة لعلّي أرى من يساعدني أو يؤنسني، حتى وصلت إلى قُبّة كبيرة بيضاء، فأخذت أدور حولها وأقيس دائرتها فوجدتها خمسين خُطوة، ولم أجد لها بابًا أو منفذًا، كما لم أستطع الصعود إليها لأنها ملساء ناعمة.
