وقد حاولت بما وسعنى من تدقيق أن أعرض على القارىء الحق "الراجح" وهذا الحق لا يظهر نابليون بونابرت ولا الجنود والمدنيين الفرنسيين الذين اشتركوا فى حملته المصرية فى صورة طيبة جداً، ولكن يجب ألا يكون فى هذا ما يضلل القارىء فيحسب نابليون ورجاله أكثر من سائر البشر شراً أو أنانية أو ضراوة، فتاريخ الحملات الإستعمارية قاطبة منذ فتح المكسيك، إذا درس دراسة صحيحة، ليس فيه ما يشرف تاريخ الحملة المصرية الفرنسيين. وليذكر القارىء أن الجنود والمدنيين الفرنسيين الذين شاركوا فى الحملة المصرية كانوا خارجين لتوهم من ثورة هى أشد الثورات التى سجلها التاريخ وحشية.
