عند تحضير هذه الندوة اعترضتنا في «حلقة أصدقاء باهي» إشكالية هامة وهي: من أين يمكن تناول هذا الموضوع الواسع والدقيق معاً وكيف؟…
وحيث أن أولى أهدافنا فتح المجال للتفكير والحوار بنفس الجرأة والشجاعة الفكرية اللتين عودنا عليهما باهي في كتاباته وجلساته. ارتأى بعضنا ضرورة الانطلاق من وضعيتنا كعرب ومسلمين تجاه المسار الفكري والتحولات السياسية والاجتماعية والعقائدية التي شهدتها المجتمعات الأوروبية باعتبارها «منبع الحداثة». وبالتالي فعلينا تخصيص جزء من الندوة للتمعن في مفكري عهد التنوير بدءاً بالصراع مع الكنيسة ومروراً بالثورات السياسية للوصول إلى عصرنا هذا، عصر العولمة والتكنولوجيا وحق التدخل، ثم عهد ما بعد الحداثة L’ère post moderniste. وكان الهدف من هذا المنظور بالطبع تربوياً وبيداغوجياً أكثر مما هو محاولة للتقليد أو النسخ.
بعضنا الآخر ارتأى الانطلاق من واقعنا الراهن ومجالنا الحضاري والديني الحالي للتمعن في محاولات العصرنة السابقة منذ نهاية القرن التاسع عشر ومنذ أصبح العرب والمسلمون يشعرون بخطورة التفوق الأوروبي التقني والصناعي وخصوصاً العسكري. ويهدف هذا المنظور إلى استيعاب «صدمة الحداثة» ذات المفعول المستمر إلى يومنا هذا. وبالتالي ينبغي البحث عن سبل الاستمرار في هذه الحركة من أجل مواكبة العصر من حيث الجوانب الحضارية والقيم والمعتقدات.
في آخر المطاف، استقر رأينا على تناول موضوع الندوة حول الحداثة وانعتاق الإنسان بأسلوب نريده هو أيضاً عصرياً وحداثياً، أي بأسلوب تحديد المفاهيم والضوابط، قصد تشريحها والتمعن فيها، باعتبار أن الحداثة ليست مفهوماً تاريخياً ولا سوسيولوجياً ولا حتى نمطاً سياسياً معيناً، بل هي نمط حضارة ترتكز على منظومة من القيم ومعتمدة على ترسانة من الضوابط التي يتم قبولها طواعية من طرف الفرد والمجتمع، قصد استبدال الانغلاق بالانفتاح واستبدال الجمود الفكري بالابتكار والإبداع، وذلك في معركة التحرر والانعتاق من أجل استدراك العجز واللحاق بالعصر والمعرفة الإنسانية الحديثة.
من هذا المنطلق ارتأينا تحديد الموضوع في: الإنسان وانعتاقه.
