إن الشريعة الإسلامية كاملة وشاملة لكل خير ومصلحة، وفي العمل بها تتحقق السعادة في الدارين الدنيا والآخرة، ومتى سار الناس على شريعة الله تعالى دون أن يعدلوا عنها فإن السعادة متحققة لهم، والفلاح والصلاح يصاحبانهم في جميع أحوالهم، ومتى أعرضوا منها كان الخسران في الدنيا والآخرة من نصيبهم، فكان من الواجب على الناس - شرعاً وعقلاً - لسعادتهم في الدنيا ونجاتهم في الآخرة أن يعتصموا ويتمسكوا بها ويحكموها في جميع شؤونهم وأمورهم: في العقائد والعبادات، وفي الأحكام والمعاملات، وفي نظام الحكم والإقتصاد وفي التعلم والقضاء، وفي الشؤون الفكرية والأمنية والأخلاقية ومجال الترويح وفي كل أمورهم على إختلاف الاحوال والأزمان.
وإن الناظر في واقع العالم الإسلامي اليوم ليرى العجب من بعد كثير من أبناء المسلمين عن تطبيق شرع الله تعالى الكامل الشامل، وتخبطهم في تقليد الكفار في التشريعات والقوانين والنظم... وفصل دين الله عزّ وجلّ وشريعته عن واقع حياتهم في شؤونهم المختلفة؛ بدءاً من الشؤون السياسية إلى الترفيهية والترويحية مروراً بالقضايا الإجتماعية والإقتصادية والأخلاقية، فكان واقعهم مخالفاً لحكم الله عزّ وجلّ، وكانوا بحق مبدلين لشرع الله تعالى.
فكان من الواجب الذي يقتضيه الشرع ويرشد إليه أسلوب المنهج العلمي الصحيح في البحث والدراسة والفتوى أن يُنظر في أصل الفنون وممارساتها المختلفة بميزان الشرع؛ فما كان منها مخالفاً للشرع تبين مخالفته بقدر تلك المخالفة، وما كان مباحاً بضوابط شرعية بين إباحة هذا العمل في الشرع مقروناً ببيان الشروط التي دل عليها الشرع، لا أن يُجنح إلى الغلو في الإباحة أو المنع كما هو حال غالب الناس، يقول شيخ الإسلام ابن تيمية رحمه الله: "الإنحراف عن الوسط كثير في أكثر الأمور في أغلب الناس؛ مثل تقابلهم في بعض الأفعال، يتخذها بعضهم ديناً واجباً أو مستحباً أو مأموراً به في الجملة، وبعضهم يعتقدها حراماً مكروهاً أو محرماً أو منهياً عنه في الجملة".
