فقد أخذ المؤلِّف كلمة "رغب" وتتبَّع مظانَّها من كتاب الله تعالى، ثم تكلَّم عليها من الناحية اللغوية والنحوية، وختم ذلك، بحديث نبوي شريف كان بمثابة النصيحة للمهدى إليه الكتابُ، فإنه متولٍّ لأمر المسلمين، كلُّ ذلك في مقدمة ومقاصد ستة وخاتمة.
