يعد تفسير السيد كاظم الرشتي لآية الكرسي من أهم كتبه، بل من أهم كتب فكر مدرسة الشيخ الأوحد أحمد بن زين الدين الأحسائي، وهو يعكس لنا مدى تبحر السيد الرشتي في علوم القرآن الكريم. ومن أهم مميزاته:
1-ابتكار المنهج: لقد كتبه بمنهج مبتكر، إذ أنه لم يتبع المناهج الموجودة في عصره، كالمنهج الأثري، أو التفسير بالرأي، أو غير ذلك، بل استخدم ما يمكن تسميته بمنهج فقه القرآن الكريم، أو بالمنهج التحليلي للقرآن الكريم.
ومن أهم سمات منهجه:
أ-تفسير الآية الكريمة بالآيات.
ب-تفسير الآية الكريمة بالأحاديث الشريفة.
ج-اعتماده على العقل بشرط عدم مخالفته لمحكم الآيات الكريمة، والأحاديث الشريفة، وإجماع الفرقة المحقة.
د-اعتماده على ظاهر عقائد المسلمين.
هـ-تناوله كل كلمة في الآية الشريفة بالبحث من عدة جوانب.
2-كتبه على طريقة التأويل والباطن.
3-اشتماله على مطالب ندر من تطرق لها، وتكلم عنها بالتفصيل، كتأويل القرآن الكريم، وباطنه، وظاهر ظاهره.
