هذه نبذة صالحة من فتاوي شيخنا وقدوتنا ولي الله تعالى الكامل الراسخ الأمي المحمدي سيدي علي الخواص أعاد الله علينا وعلى المسلمين من بركاته وبركات علومه في الدنيا والآخرة التي سألته عنها مدة صحبتي له مترجمًا عن معنى بعضها لكونه رضي الله عنه كان أميًا لا يقرأ ولا يكتب فلسانه يشبه لسان السرياني تارة والعبري تارة فإذا علمت أن الجواب لا يدرك إلا ذوقًا ذكرت جوابه بلفظه من غير شرح لمعناه نظير الحروف أول سورة القرآن العظيم، وقد جمعت هذه الأجوبة وضمتها في هذا الكتاب وسميته (درر الغواص)، إن لم أستطع استحضار جميع ما سمعته منها من العلوم والمعارف لكثرة نسياني فضعف جناني.
