إن هيمنة الحضارة المعاصرة ذات البعد الغربي فكريا وثقافيا وسلوكيا قد أدى إلى قيام محاولات عديدة للسعي إلى تسويق قيم الحضارة المعاصرة من خلال ترويج فكرة العالمية، خاصة في جانبها الاجتماعي والسلوكي، وقد قامت هيئة الأمم المتحدة بأنشطة في هذا المجال؛ وذلك بعقد الندوات والمؤتمرات العالمية، واستصدار الصكوك والوثائق حيال العديد من القضايا الاجتماعية، مثل قضايا التنمية الاجتماعية، والسكان، والمرأة. وكان من أهم القضايا المطروحة في المؤتمرات والمواثيق الدولية هي قضية المرأة، وقد ظهرت الأهمية الكبرى لهذه القضية في سياق هذه المؤتمرات من خلال الظواهر التي سنستعرضها في ثنايا الكتاب. قسمت الدراسة إلى بابين وعدة فصول: باب تمهيدي: الأسس العامة لقضايا المرأة في المؤتمرات الدولية: العلمانية، الحرية عند الغرب، العولمة والعالمية في الحضارة الغربية المعاصرة. الباب الأول: العقد الأممي لقضايا المرأة في المؤتمرات الدولية: المساواة في العقد الأممي، التنمية في العقد الأممي، السلم في العقد الأممي. الباب الثاني: الإجراءات التنفيذية للعقد الأممي حول المرأة: الإجراءات في المجال الخلقي والاجتماعي، الإجراءات في المجال التعليمي، الإجراءات في المجال الصحي، الإجراءات في المجال الاقتصادي، الإجراءات في المجال السياسي. فصل ختامي: في الموقف من المشاركة في هذه المؤتمرات: موقف المقاطعين وحججهم، موقف المشاركين وحججهم، الموقف الصحيح ومبرراته. الخاتمة: خلاصة البحث ونتائجه، التوصيات. ملاحق.
