في تلك الذكريات يسترجع د.محمد حبيب شريط حياته على مدار ما يقرب من سبعين عامًا بداية من سنوات الطفولة في مدينة دمياط حيث ولد وعاش مع أسرته التي تتكون من والده ووالدته إضافة إلى ثلاث شقيقات وأخ وحيد، يتطرق د. حبيب بعد ذلك إلى رحلته الدراسية حتى التحق بكلية العلوم جامعة أسيوط وتخرج بامتياز مع مرتبة الشرف وكلف معيدا بالجامعة وحصوله على الماجستير والدكتوراه، يتذكر الدكتور محمد حبيب بداية انخراطه في العمل العام بعد تعيينه في هيئة التدريس بكلية العلوم ومشاركته في الدعوة الإسلامية وانضمامه إلى جماعة الإخوان المسلمين وتأسيسه للجمعية الإسلامية للدعوة وتنمية المجتمع بأسيوط ورئاسته لنادي أعضاء هيئة التدريس بجامعة أسيوط.. ثم يتطرق إلى تجربته كنائب في مجلس الشعب عام 1987 مختتمًا ذكرياته بالعلاقة بين الإخوان والسلطة في مصر وما تخللها من شد وجذب واعتقالات ومحاكمات عسكرية وأحكام بالسجن... ومسيرته الشخصية في العمل الدعوي حتى شغل منصب النائب الأول للمرشد العام للإخوان المسلمين، إن هذه الذكريات هي لقطات من التاريخ.. تتقارب فيها الأزمنة وتتباعد.. تتسع وتضيق، ولكنها في النهاية تلقي الضوء على فترة مهمة في تاريخ مصر والحركة الإسلامية والإخوان المسلمين، يترك فيها د. محمد حبيب تجربته للتاريخ والأجيال التالية للحكم عليها.
