لقد شكّل التراث العربي - بشقّيه الفكري والأدبي - هاجس الأنتلجنسيا العربية المعاصرة، فمنذ عصر النهضة تهافت النقّاد والمفكّرون على نبش تلك التركة المعرفية القديمة، وذلك بسبب الصدام الحضاري الذي أصاب الوعي العربي المعاصر، إثر إنفتاحه على الثقافة الغربية وبالضبط على أوروبا، ممّا شكّل تأزّما في واقعه السوسي وثقافي، حيث أصبح يتأرجح بين التراث - بإعتباره رمز الأصالة والذات العرية، وفيه تاريخ إنتصاراته العظمى، ووقائعه الخالدة، كما أنّه يمثل ترسانته الروحية الصافية التي يستمد منها النور والإيمان - وبين الآخر الغرب، كونه يمثل المعاصرة بما فيها من معارف وعلوم ومناهج ورؤى أكثر حداثة وأكثر تطوراً.
لذلك، آثر المثقّف العربي المعاصر العودة إلى التراث بهدف الإحتماء به، والإرتماء في أحضانه هروباً من غزو الثقافة الغربية، وأيضاً بغية إحياته ونفض الغبار عنه، بشيء من الوعي والإدراك والإرتكاز عليه قصد القدرة على الوقوف في وجه الآخر بروح نديّة تستند إلى تجذّر حضاري عميق، ممّا يخلق الثقة بالنفس والهويّة والذات.
وإن كان هناك تيار آخر يفضّل محو التراث والإكتفاء فقط بما يأتي من أوروبا، في روح إتّكالية إستسلامية تفضّل التبعية على الإبداع والخلق والبناء والمساءلة، معتقداً أنها - أوروبا - المهدي المنتظر المخلّص من كل إشكال، والمنقذ من كل ضلال.
وقد هدف في هذا البحث الموسوم بــ "التراث السردي العربي بين المحلية والعالمية في كتابات عبد الفتّاح كيليطو" أن نكشف الغطاء عن مراوغات الناقد إثر صحبته للحكاية العربية التراثية، وكذا البحث عن أهم الخصائص وإشكاليات السرد العربي القديم، إضافة إلى معرفة موقع هذا الأخير في قائمة الأعمال العالمية والآثار الخالدة، فضلاً عن كشف العلاقة التي تربط الثقافة العربية بالآخر قديماً وحديثاً، الأمر الذي يُمكّننا من فهم بنية الحكاية العربية من جهة، وبنية العقلية العربية من جهة أخرى، ممّا يخلق فينا وعياً أكثر نضج الطرح الإشكاليات ومساءلتها في آن.
