الحنة أو الحناء اسم لشجرة منتشرة في كل بقاع الأرض، فلا يوجد بلد لا يعرفها ويعرف فائدتها، وأن الله عز وجل كرم الإنسان بها وجعل هذه الشجرة تتقاسم حياته، فكما لأشجار الخير المباركة فوائد مثل شجرة الزيتون والسدر والرمان والنخيل، كانت شجرة الحنة فائدتها المميزة، فأغصانها وكذلك الأوراق والجذور فهي وبكل أجزائها تدخل في أدوار لا تستطيع أي شجرة أن تأخذ هذا الدور، وقد حاول الكثير من استعمال أوراق أشجار أخرى لكن لم تحمل أي ميزة مساوية لشجرة الحنة، ونحن لا نتكلم عن البدائل الصناعية هنا لأنه لا يمكن أن تعطي أبسط ما تعطيه شجرة الحنة، ومثال ما نقول اللون الصناعي المستعمل عند الكثير من النساء فبعد استعمال هذه الألوان وخاصة الرخيض الثمن منها والمصنوع بصورة عشوائية يعطي نتيجة سلبية للشعر مما تؤدي إلى تلفه، فلا يمكن أن نستغني عن اللوان التي تستخرج من شجر الحنة.
قد يظن الكثير أن الجنة تفيد للتجميل فقط أو تزيد رونقة الوخرفة إلى جمالية المرأة، لكن تعتبر من أفضل العلاجات المهمة والشفاء للكثير من العوارض وخاص الجلدية منها، وكذلك العلاج الأفضل للشعر. ولفائدتها العلمية والطبية والشفائية كان لا بد من وضعها ضمن كتاب يضع بين أوراقه جزء بسيط ما لها من فائدة، وفي مجال ثاني طريقة الرسم والنقش بواسطة الحنة.
