تتجلَّى أهميةُ هذه الرسالة في موضوعِها الذي كُتبت فيه، فقد تناولت قضيةً من أهم قضايا الفكر الإنساني، وهي قضية الخوارق التي يُمِدُّ الله تعالى بها مَن يصطفي مِن خلْقِه على سبيل التأييد والتكريمِ.
وقد كتبت هذه الرسالة شرحاً لأبيات لطيفة للعلامة جلال الدين السيوطي رحمه الله تعالى، جمعَ فيها أسماءَ من تكلَّموا في المهد وبدأها بقوله: "تكلَّم في المهدِ النبيُّ مُحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ويحيى وعيسى والخليلُ ومريم".
وقد قام العلامة الشيخ أحمد البرماوي نجل شيخ الإسلام العلامة إبراهيم بن محمد البرماوي -شيخ الأزهر بين عامي 1101 و 1106 هـ - بشرح هذه الأبيات مستعرضاً ما ورد من أحاديث وأخبار صحيحة في سبب نطق هؤلاء المذكورين في أبيات السيوطي.
